Congressman John Fleming, M.D., released the following statement after speaking at a press conference today in Bossier City, where it was announced that the company CSC would establish a new technology center at the Cyber Innovation Center in Bossier City:

“When a global firm like CSC settles on Bossier City, after considering 134 sites across the country for its new technology center, it’s clear that we are doing something right in northwest Louisiana. CSC has 80,000 IT professionals serving clients in more than 70 countries, and now some of their newest employees will call our area home.

“I am proud of the work of the Cyber Innovation Center. The CIC has established top-notch facilities and has developed programs to equip area high school and college students for STEM careers that will benefit generations to come.

“Today’s announcement is an example of a public-private partnership that will produce dividends for Bossier Parish and the surrounding area. At a time when government agencies are rightfully criticized for throwing money at programs with little, if any, tangible returns, this joint effort by the state of Louisiana, Bossier Parish, and a successful private firm offers a lesson in how government can actually stimulate the creation of good-paying jobs.”

Dr. John Fleming is Chairman of the Natural Resources Subcommittee on Fisheries, Wildlife, Oceans and Insular Affairs and is a member of the House Armed Services Committee. He is a physician and small business owner and represents the 4th Congressional District of Louisiana.
