U.S. Representative John Fleming, M.D. (LA-4) released the following statement, after introducing H.R. 6137, the Helping Save Americans’ Health Care Choices Act of 2012:
            

“A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a vital tool for giving consumers more power over their health care choices and spending. Obamacare used new taxes and penalties to significantly decrease the effectiveness of HSAs. The legislation I introduced today repeals the damage done by Obamacare and strengthens HSAs so consumers can keep more of their own money for the health care of their own choosing. 

            “It’s now clear that Obamacare is a massive tax increase on the American people masquerading as health care reform. What we need to do is repeal Obamacare and tackle these issues that will protect people’s health care freedom and lower health care costs. This bill is an important step in that direction.”
